There was no attack on KP assembly: Maryam Nawaz

KARACHI: Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Sunday denied any ‘attack’ on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly.

“There was NO attack on KP assembly. Apparently some youngsters tried to display flags atop the gate. Even tht (that) can’t b condoned. Not PMLN ethos,” she wrote on her Twitter account.

Her statement comes after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan declared the act as PML-N workers’ “hooliganism at KP assembly”.

“PMLN workers & supporters must at all times adhere to Nawaz Sharif’s policy of civility & respect. In PTI & PAT downfall, there’s a lesson for us,” she said.

Earlier, the PML-N works allegedly stormed the KP assembly as they protested against the PTI chairman’s call for Raiwind march.

Dozens of PML-N workers, who were chanting slogans against Imran Khan, climbed the walls and gates of the assembly and displayed the flag of the party.

“Shameful behaviour by PML-N goons trying to stop PTI from Raiwind March by hooliganism at KP Assembly. PML-N has record of such behavior,” Imran said.

He reiterated that PTI’s Raiwind March is a peaceful protest and that his party would not march on to anyone’s home.

“After today’s PMLN hooliganism, I am more determined than ever to have the Raiwind March. PTI will not be deterred by PMLN’s threats,” Imran said
