PTI to set up 3-day power protest camp from I-Day

SWABI - Leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have declared here on Sunday that their three-day protest camp at Karnal Sher Khan Chowk against the Peshawar Eclectic Supply Company (Pesco) and district administration would be commenced from the Independence Day.
In a meeting they said that their protest camp is against the unjust FIR registered by the district police under the anti-terrorist act after unruly power protesters raided the Swabi grid station a few days back.
They said power protests had held across the country but such FIRs have not been registered against the people, making it cleat that that the approach of the officers concerned was totally based on personal enmity.
“On the day we became independent from the British yoke we would morn the behaviour of the district police and Pesco officers who on one side imposed prolong loadshedding on the people and registered unjust FIR on the other,” said Shah Wali, former district information secretary of the party.
His name has also mentioned in the FIR and according to the Pesco officers he led the power protesters.
They said that the anti-terrorist act has wrongly used by the district administration police.
They said that the FIR has been registered against majority of the PTI leaders and workers under well-organised conspiracy against their party in the district and some leading politicians of the opposition parties were involved in it.
The protest camp would remain intact from Tuesday to Thursday and if the Pesco and district administration failed to withdraw the FIR then they would adopt a new line of action.
