PESHAWAR - Central Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Syed Munawar Hassan has urged the PML-N-led government to take the dialogue offer of Taliban seriously and respond it without any delay. He said the Taliban should also clarify what sort of guarantee they want for negotiations.
"The federal government has ignored its commitments made during election campaign and ignored its manifesto just after a few months being in power," the amaat-e-Islami chief said this while addressing Eid Millan party at the Nishtar Hall on Monday.
Criticising the government for failing to control the existing poor law and order situations, he warned the country would witness political turmoil if masses were pushed towards economic crisis.
On this occasion, amaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter Ameer Prof Ibrahim Khan, District Ameer Bahrullah and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) joint candidate for NA-1 Gul Badshah also addressed the gathering.
Munawar Hassan said that though elections were held and government was installed in the country but still there were countless questions in the minds of already distressed masses. He asked from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that what have been changed. "The country is still here where it was earlier. The country is still in a state of anarchy," he said.
Regarding Dr Aafia Sidiqui, he said the government was yet to adopt any stance on this issue. He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not ready to talk about the aggression of India on water issue. The amaat-e-Islami chief said it was estranged that the US representatives on one hand alleged that terrorism in Pakistan was due to Al-Qaeda and Taliban while on the other hand they try to hide their crimes of killing innocent tribal people in drone attacks.

JI lauds lifting of pillion riding ban
Staff Reporter from Karachi adds: Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Hussain Mehanti has welcomed the decision of provincial government in connection with lifting of ban on pillion riding.
He said the provincial government should lift this ban very early as it affects around 6 million people. The ban had also proved ineffective in order to curb terrorism activities.
Mehanti said the JI considers the ban against the basic norms of human rights and that is why it had demanded the government to lift it. He urged the government to stop taking such steps in future as those steps are tantamount to usurp basic rights of common men.
