ISLAMABAD- In his address, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced that the federal government would request Chief Justice of Pakistan to nominate three honorable judges of the Supreme Court to investigate rigging charges. Once this is done, there remains no appropriate justification for any protest.
PM assured that this decision had been taken after much scrutiny over the current political situation of the country and hoped for eliminating the existing political turmoil.
According to him, national economy picked up pace in terms of currency stabilization and foreign direct investment.
He said the purpose of sit-ins and protests seems questionable. He said some elements aim to push back the country towards poverty, backwardness and terrorism.
The use of computerized National Identity Card and voter’s photograph authenticated the last general election, Nawaz Sharif concluded.
