Preparations for I-Day celebration gain momentum

The preparations for the celebration of the Independence Day are getting momentum as the Sialkot region is wearing a bridal look.
The people show keen interest for celebrating the Independence Day with traditional zeal and fervour. The local TMAs have decorated all the roads, streets, houses, government buildings and bazaars with thousands of small and big national flags in Sialkot City, Sialkot Cantt, Daska, Bhopalwala, Sambrial, Uggoki, Pasrur, Badiana, Chawinda and surrounding areas, showing that the nation will celebrate Independence Day with enthusiasm.
The entire government machinery, students and teachers of all the private and government institutions , local politicians and representatives of NGOs are busy holding ceremonies including hoisting of the national flags and cutting the cakes of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
DCO Dr Asif Tufail said that a main prestigious and colourful national flag hoisting ceremony would be held at Jinnah Stadium under the auspices of Sialkot district administration. He said that during the ongoing Independence Day celebrations, seminars, symposiums, walks, rallies, speech and Milli Naghmas were being organised across the Sialkot district to mark the importance of the Day under the supervisions of local TMAs. While, colourful cultural shows and sports would also be organised for the youths, besides, providing the maximum opportunities of recreation to the people as well, he added.
He said that the cerebrations of Independence Day were getting momentum for celebrating ID with traditional zeal and enthusiasm were getting momentum in Sialkot region. National flags could be seen hoisted on the cars, motorcycles, trucks, etc also fluttering atop the government and private buildings, houses, markets and shops in Sambrial.
Sambrial, some shopkeepers said that their business was gaining momentum as the demand for buntings and stickers’ bearing the pictures of flags and national heroes goes up in the markets.
The children have decorated their cycles and the elders their motorbike and cars with national flags and stickers. The shops, buildings, the government offices and houses are being decorated to celebrate this special occasion. Both the young and old people have started preparing for the ID celebrations in their own style. The children can be seen buying buntings, stickers and badges from their pocket money.
