Veteran journalist passes away

ISLAMABAD - Veteran journalist and scholar Mir Jameel-ur-Rehman died here on Sunday after a protracted illness. The funeral prayers of the deceased will be offered at H-8 Graveyard today (Monday) at 3.30pm while the Qul will be offered on Tuesday at his residence in G-8/4. Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Federal Ministers and elite of the town have expressed their heartfelt condolences over the demise of Mir Jameelur Rehman and termed it a great loss. Premier said that late Mir Jameel-ur-Rehman, brother of founder of Jang Group Late Mir Khalilur Rehman, was a seasoned journalist who was widely respected among the journalist community and literary circles of the country. He was a high-calibre professional who always promoted healthy journalism. His invaluable services in the fields of journalism and literature would always be remembered. The Prime Minister prayed to Almighty Allah for the eternal peace of the departed soul and grant of courage to the members of the bereaved family to bear this immense loss with patience.
