KARACHI: A Federal Investigation Team (FIA) team on Tuesday brought prime suspect in Baldia factory fire incident, Rehman Bhola back to Pakistan after he was caught in Thailand.
The suspect was brought back to the country using emergency passport. Earlier, Bhola was arrested in Thailand by the Interpol, and alleged that Hammad Siddique of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) ordered the destruction of Baldia factory.
He also claimed that other members of MQM were involved in the crime.
Owners of the factory were asked to comply with the demands of extortion money and upon their refusal the factory was set on fire, alleged Bhola.
Sources privy to FIA stated that a court will be approached on Wednesday to acquire remand of the prime suspect.
A factory in Karachi’s Baldia Town was set on fire in 2012 and a report of Pakistan Rangers revealed that a political party was involved in the incident.
Founder of the alleged political party was detached with by leadership of Pakistan chapter in August over anti-state speech.
