NAB summons ex-KPK CM Haider Hoti in arms scam

PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Wednesday summoned former chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti in the weapons purchase scam for the provincial police on February 14.
Sources said that NAB has called ex-CM Ameer Haider Hoti to appear before the NAB that despite being well aware of this mega arms scam, why did not he take action against those involved in such a huge corruption.
In this regard, a case is already in progress in an accountability court. While former IGP Malik Naveed, Niaz Ali Shah, a former adviser to chief minister and Raza Ali Khan, the brother-in-law of former CM Amir Haider Hoti’s brother Ghazan Hoti have already been arrested in the same case. But Niaz was released after he paid back Rs20 million.
Out of total Rs1.82 billion siphoned off allegedly by police officers, government officials and politicians in the weapons purchase scam for the KP police, the National Accountability Bureau has far recovered only Rs297 million.
