MUZAFFARABAD - A bomb planted in a toy exploded near the Line of Control in Azad Kashmir on Thursday, killing at least two children and injuring three women.
According to a private TV channel, the explosion took place in Kharal Maldiyalan village, Bagh district, some 130 kilometres away from Muzaffarabad.
Bagh police confirmed that seven-year-old Moeed and his five-year-old sister Shabana were killed after a ball-like shell they were playing with exploded.
“They found the toy bomb under the bushes of the field near their house,” they added. The mother of the deceased and two others also received injuries. The injured were rushed to a Bagh hospital for treatment. The police said they had lodged an FIR and were investigating the matter.
