KP government launches assistance program for IDPs

PESHAWAR- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched 'Esaar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Program' for assistance and welfare of displaced persons of North Waziristan.
More than 900,000 people have left North Waziristan in the wake of military offensive against militants and are temporarily residing in different parts of the province and country. Under the ‘Esaar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Program,’ each of the IDPs family has been provided Rs3, 500 for monthly house rent. Besides, payment of Rs5, 000 to each of the displaced families under Ramazan package has also begun.
Around 7,000 families have so far been provided financial assistance under the welfare program for IDPs.  The KP government reiterated its resolve to help IDPs in this testing time and save them from facing hard-scrabble life.
