PESHAWAR - Three people including a child were killed when a rocket fired by miscreants from an unknown location hit a vehicle in Miranshah area of North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday.
Sources said two of the victims were believed to be militants of Hafiz Gul Bahadar group of Taliban and they were on way to Miranshah near Sargardan area at Ghulam Khan Road.
Official sources have also confirmed that unidentified person targeted their vehicle from a remote area.
In July 2008, Gul Bahadur and Maulvi Nazir, leader of the Ahmedzai Wazirs in South Waziristan, announced creation of the Muqami Tehrik-e Taliban (Local Taliban Movement) also referred to as the ‘Waziri Alliance’, with Gul Bahadur as its leader and Nazir as his deputy.
In late 2008, missile strikes by US drones in North Waziristan strained the peace deal with government that he had inked previously in 2006.
In March 2011, he again threatened to pull out of the peace deal with Pakistani government after one of his top commanders Sherabat Khan Wazir was killed in Datta Khel airstrike.
