BAHAWALPUR - Members of civil society, including traders, lawyers, schoolchildren, and politicians condemned the attack on 14-year-old Malala Yousafzai and prayed for her early recovery here on Friday. The PML-N Women Wing arranged a special ceremony, where in they lit candles and prayed for the health prosperity of Malala here the last night. On the occasion, PML-N MNA Begum Parveen Masood Bhatti said that today Malala Yousafzai had been targeted in Swat, and tomorrow the same fate could befall on other daughters of the nation in cities like Karachi, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad and Islamabad. Jamaat-e-Islami leader Dr Wasemm Akhter said that the nation was proud of Malala for her courage to stand in front of terrorists for the rights of women. Meanwhile, the legal fraternity demanded the government to decide whether to stand by or fight against the ideology that attacked Malala Yousafzai. The lawyers also passed a unanimous resolution denouncing the attack on the teenage peace activist.Similarly, Cholistan Development Authority (CDA) Managing Director Javed Akhter Mehmood said that Malala was the daughter of the nation and everybody should pray for her health and long life. He said that collective prayer also held at CDA Office for special prayers for Malala. On the occasion, CDA Executive Director Farooq Ahmed Khan paid tribute to Malala Yousafzai. The business community also paid rich tribute to Malala and offered special prayers for her recovery. While the collective prayers offered in the Commissioner office, DCO office, DPO office and all government offices for early recovery of Malala.
