FAISALABAD – The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company has launched another campaign to recover arrears from the defaulters who owe up to Rs500,000 to the company.A Fesco spokesman said that earlier a campaign was initiated on the directive of Ministry of Water and Power and under the supervision of Chief Executive Officer Iftikhar Ahmad to recover all arrears from defaulters.This campaign was restricted to permanently disconnected consumers with individual liability from Rs50,000 and total amount of Rs.136 million. This campaign yielded positive results and now the action has been started against big fish. The spokesman said that there were 24 major defaulters who owe Rs100,000 to Rs500,000 each. They have total liability of Rs43.738 million and among them also include a number of industrial units. The Chief Executive Officer has issued directives to regularly monitor the disconnected connections and if anyone is found supplying electricity to these defaulters, his connection would also be disconnected. On the other hand, the superintending engineers and other officers are contacting the defaulters with a request to settle the accounts otherwise any other connection issued in their name would also be disconnected.Chief Executive Officer Iftikhar Ahmad has also given a target to Fesco officers to recover maximum pending arrears positively within next two months, saying any officer showing poor results would also be taken to task. He urged the citizens to monitor the disconnected connections and immediately inform the subdivision concerned.
