An eight-year-old girl was raped by her relative.
As per reports, eight-year-old Iram, a resident of Chak 4/BC near Abbas Nagar was taken to crop fields near her house by her relative identified as Muhammad Waseem where he raped her. However, the accused fled away after passers-by and locals gather after hearing to the alarms raised by the minor girl.
She was taken to Rural Health Centre Abbas Nagar and was later referred to Bahawal Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur. After complete examination the doctors at BVH confirmed that the girl was raped.
On information, DPO Sohail Habib Tajik arrived on the scene and directed the Police officials to arrest the criminal forthwith.
Abbas Nagar Police SHO Abid Warraich told the media that a case had been registered against Wasim under section 365-376PPC and the police arrested him.
