PESHAWAR - KP Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has felicitated nation on Independence Day and prayed for the prosperity and peace in the country."We as Pakistani Nation are observing the Independence Day, the 14th August as mark of our renewed commitment to steadfastly work for the betterment of our country; materialize the cherished dreams of the founders of the nation and make our beloved motherland abode of peace, prosperity and stability for our future generations," he said. He stated, this year Independence Day carries special significance as our more than half a million brothers and sisters from North Waziristan Agency have been displaced. This is indeed a big challenge which our beloved country is confronted with.While extending deepest felicitations to the countrymen in general and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA in particular on this auspicious occasion, he said, "I also take the opportunity to salute the ultimate sacrifices which the jawans and officers of Pak Army have been rendering to restore peace and stability in the area.Let me remind the countrymen, that this is the time to be more conscious towards our national goals of making the security and stability of our beloved motherland impregnable; ensure well being and prosperity of the nation and bring lasting peace in the society.
