No US position on marches

WASHINGTON  - The United States on Wednesday said it respects people’s right to assemble, but has taken no position on Pakistani opposition parties marches it favours elected governments.
"We don't have any position on the planned marches," State Department spokesperson Marie Harf said when asked about the PTI's march on Thursday.
She explained that the United States stands strongly in favour of a democratically elected civilian government but also respects people's right to assemble.
