PPP govt ignoring various agenda items in NA

ISLAMABAD - The PPP government is repeatedly ignoring some of the agenda items in the National Assembly, including debate on the prevailing law and order situation due to certain reasons.
The worst case in this regard is debate on law and order situation following a motion moved by Interior Minister Rehman Malik on September 3. The issue remained part of the ‘orders of the day’ since 46th session of the Lower House. The important matter has been debated over only for one day in the current session (48th session), as opposition as well as treasury members gave vent to their pent-up emotions by terming it a ‘terrible failure’ on the part the govt to poorly maintain law and order situation.
Surprisingly, Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi in previous sitting (Wednesday) swiftly disposed of every single item on the agenda except an ongoing and pending debate over the subject.
The fate of the Gwadar Port Authority Bill, 2012, is also quite same like debate on law and order situation in the country. This bill remained on agenda item for last some session but was not taken up due to unavailability of the concerned Minister or some other reasons. It would not be out of place to mention here that the much-hyped 48th session with reference to debate on National Accountability Commission, Bill (NAC), Dual Nationality bill and other are yet to be witnessed any controversial legislation.
Seeking the support of MQM and ANP, opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has already informed that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would strongly oppose the new accountability bill if presented in the House.
