SHEIKHUPURA:- A terrorist was killed in a shootout with the Law Enforcement Agencies and three others managed to escape here in Safdarabad area in the wee hours of Sunday, officials said. A policeman also sustained gunshot wounds in the incident. The officials said that the dead terrorist was affiliated with the outlawed outfit TTP. They said the operation was carried out following a tip-off about the presence of terrorists in the area. As the terrorists saw the LEAs personnel, they opened fire, leaving a policeman critically injured.–The Nation Monitoring
The police retaliated by firing, killing a TTP-affiliated terrorist while three of his accomplices made good their escape under the cover of darkness, the officials said.
The police said that a suicide jacket, two hand grenades and a huge cache of arms were recovered from the possession of the dead outlaw.–
After the incident, the police launched hunt for the arrest for the fleeing terrorists. Further investigation is underway.
