KARACHI - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday rejected the passage of bill for revival of old local government system, terming it black law of British era. After adjournment of the session, talking to the media persons at the assembly premises he said that his party has decided to start protests against undemocratic behaviour of PPP government. He said that our lawmakers wanted to participate in the assembly proceedings to discuss on legislation, but acting speaker of Sindh Assembly acted as partial and did not allot the opposition seat to MQM lawmakers. He said that law passed by the ruling PPP would be harmful for the unity of the province as PPP has started division through ignoring views of representatives of millions of voters. He said that PPP government has revived the old system of Zia in the enmity of MQM, but we will not accept this black law and fight though democratic means. He demanded of the government to accept their ministers and Governor Dr Ishrat Ul Ebads resignation immediately as we are not part of government more. MQM leader said that PPP, through imposing black laws, wants to divide the people of the province but we are the binding force and will not let to do them. He said that questioned that if local government system of Musharraf was bad than why the PPP leaders and Ministers relatives were took part in the elections and held posts of Nazims in the province. MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari said that those who talk of democracy have brought the back a system of ruling in Sindh which was introduced by military dictator General Zia-ul-Haq. He said that his party has challenged the revival of commissionerate in the Supreme Court. The MQM leader said that his party lawmakers walked out of the house against the undemocratic behaviour of PPP government. Earlier, Sindh Assembly gave approval of three bills including Bill of Police Act-1861, Bill of Revenue Act-2011 and Bill for restoration of commissionerate system.
