Illegal ECL name entry, ex-PM receives court’s response

ISLAMABAD- Islamabad High Court (IHC) has adjourned the hearing of former Prime Minister (PM) Raja Pervez Ashraf for one week; he gave a petition requesting his name be removed from the Exit Control List (ECL).

Led by Chief Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kansi, a two-member bench of IHC took up the hearing of Ashraf versus the federation case today. The court has ordered National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file reply within one week on this count.

Farooq H Naik, counsel for the petitioner, appeared in court and informed that his client’s name had been illegally noted in the ECL. The former PM is facing difficulties in traveling to other countries for ceremonies due to this issue.
