MULTAN - Senior Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that his party deserves to hold its event at D Chowk as it had announced its march and venue one month ago.
Addressing a news conference here on Saturday, he warned the PML-N to refrain from taking foolish steps and creating controversies in the name of Independence Day celebrations at PTI’s scheduled venue ‘D’ chowk in Islamabad. He claimed over one million people were going to assemble at ‘D’ chowk to decide the fate of the country on August 14. He asserted that the march was not meant to derail democracy rather it was constitutional right of everyone to hold peaceful protest for demands. He demanded the government to revise its decision.
He told the journalists that the government did not issue NoC to Imran Khan Foundation and many other organizations, although they were ready to work for the rehabilitation of IDPs.
He strongly criticised the PPP and said that it played politics in the name of creation of Saraiki province. He demanded quota for South Punjab until the Saraiki province was created.
