PESHAWAR 5 - At least 165 more families of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) left for their homes in North Waziristan Agency from a camp established for them at the Frontier Region (FR) Bannu on Monday.
In the second phase of sending the IDPs back to their homes in North Waziristan Agency, a total of 165 families consisting of 961 persons - 233 male and 286 female and 267 children - belonging to Dawar tribe from Edak area of the agency left from Mirzail security check post in FR Bannu. Escorted by personnel of security forces, a convoy of the IDPs comprising around 90 vehicles left for their homes in the morning.
, as the government has started sending the IDPs back to their homes to the area which have been cleared of militants during Zarb-e-Azb operation.
As around 1 million tribesmen have left North Waziristan Agency and shifted to camps in Bannu or started living with their relatives in downtowns of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Each family is giving Rs10,000 in cash and an ATM card having Rs25,000 balance, besides ration and edible items.
