Palestine issue comes to the fore again: Babar
ISLAMABAD Federal Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Dr Babar Awan has said that the democracy had improved Pakistans reputation among the worlds nations.
Addressing a seminar organised by Khubaib Foundation, he said the democratic govt of PPP was trying to improve the living standard of common man.
Talking on the budget, he said special attention was being given to govt employees and poor segments of the society, and despite economic crisis at the international level, salaries of govt employees increased by 50pc. On Palestine issue, Awan said Pakistan had taken clear stance on the issue and wanted the resolution of the issue in accordance with the UN resolutions, adding Israeli attack on Flotilla again highlighted the Palestine issue.
He said the address of Turkish President to Pakistani Parliament reflected Pak-Turkey friendship and Turkey also allowed Pakistanis having European visa to live in Turkey for one month and only Pakistanis had been given that facility.
