Bilawal warns 'step-motherly' attitude towards smaller provinces will harm Federation

KARACHI, June 14 (NNI): Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has warned that step-motherly attitude of the PML-N government towards smaller provinces in distribution of their financial share from federal pool would be damaging for the Federation.

“Attempts and tacit steps to create disparity among the federating units in the field of development and progress through inequitable and biased apportionment of financial resources for petty political gains should be discouraged by all the Federation-loving political forces of the country,” PPP Chairman stated while having a briefing on Sindh budget for 2016-17.

Sindh Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presented the Budget Books of Sindh to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and gave briefing about key points. Additional Chief Secretary (Planning and Development) Waseem Ahmed and Finance Secretary Suhail Rajput were also present on the occasion.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that his Party has always struggled for the downtrodden masses and always held the view thatPakistan should progress and grow as a unified nation. Neglecting any part of the country in political and financial matters would be tantamount to creating distrust among the provinces and their people, he added.

He also asked Sindh government to engage the other provinces for new NFC Award, which is already due for smoothening and rationalizing distribution of resources among the provinces.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also directed Sindh government to ensure that its releases for Annual Development Programme (ADP) are made in time for completion of schemes in time.
