Federal government must take Dr. Shakeel Afridi into its custody

PESHAWAR- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government asked the Federal Government to take into custody Dr. Shakeel Afridi, who is currently imprisoned in Central Jail Peshawar.

Advisor on Jail Affairs KP, Malik Qasim Khan, told that KP government had written a letter to the Ministry of Interior regarding Dr. Shakeel Afridi’s imprisonment. However, no reply is received to the letter, he added.

He said Dr. Afridi was a prisoner and arrangements for his detention should also be made by the federal government. He stated that handing over Dr. Afridi to federal government also had security reasons behind it.
