CTD eliminates five ‘terrorists’ in shootout

Five suspected terrorists were gunned down in a shootout with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) while two others made good their escape from the scene.
The incident occurred in Chak Nodah, tehsil Shah Kot of Nankana Sahib District late the other night.
According to the CTD officials, acting on a tip-off, the Law Enforcement personnel carried out a raid on a house in Chak Nodah. However, as soon the outlaws sighted the LEAs personnel, they started indiscriminate firing which the latter retaliated. A shootout ensued which lasted for quite some time as a result five terrorists were killed while two others managed to flee the scene under the cover of darkness.
The CTD also recovered two motorcycles, a huge cache of ammunition and weapons, two kg of explosive material and 13-feet-long explosive line from the spot.
According to the CTD officials, the terrorists belonged to a banned organisation.
However, identity of the slain suspects could not be ascertained immediately.

Five Lyari gangsters nailed in Attock

The police claimed to have arrested five wanted operatives of the Lyari gang war from Dhok Kissan area here in district Attack on Sunday.
The police said that acting on a tip-off, a police team led by RPO Fakhr Sultan carried out a raid in Dhok Kissan and arrested the five wanted members of Lyari gang war holed up in the area. They were identified as Noor Zaman, Safdar Hussain, Hameed Khan, Ansar Hussain and Ghulam Hussain. The police informed that Tariq Aziz, son of Noor Zaman had been killed in a gun battle with Rangers while two other sons are at large. The RPO claimed that 22 weapons of different kinds, thousands of bullets, four vehicles, six computers, 38 cellphones, 25 tolas of gold, Prize bonds and Rs30 million were also recovered from their possession. The police have shifted the accused to unidentified location for interrogation.
