Six more killed in Karachi violence

KARACHI – Excise Police constable among six people were gunned down in separate acts of violence in different parts of the City on Tuesday.
A constable of Excise Police was gunned down in Mujahid Colony within the jurisdiction of Mominabad police station.
Police said the victim namely Jamal Raza, 35, son of Ali Raza was going to his brother’s home when some unidentified armed men riding a motorbike stopped him and opened fire. Resultantly, he received multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot. After getting information police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to his heirs. Police believed that the motive behind the murder was sectarian killing.
Two men were shot dead while another wounded in Ali Garh Colony within the limits of Orangi Town police station.
Police said that the victims identified as Muhammad Bashir, 55, son of Khan Zawan and Gul Ahmed, 28, son of Fazal Ahmed were shot dead while Shahid was wounded.
The victims were sitting near their residences where gunmen some unidentified motorcyclists reached and started indiscriminate firing. Resultantly all the victims received bullet injuries and rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police said that deceased were vegetable venders and motive behind the killing has yet to be ascertained. A man was gunned down in Riaz Chowk, Korangi within the precincts of Zaman Town police station.
Police said that the victim namely Shahid, 32, was going somewhere when some unidentified motorcyclists came close to him and opened fire. Resultantly, he received multiple bullet injuries and died on the way to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The body was handed over to his family after postmortem.
The motive behind the killing has yet to be ascertained.
A passerby namely Jawaid was wounded during an armed clash at Sohrab Goth at Edhi Morgue. Later, he succumbed to injuries at a private hospital. The clash took place when workers of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat reached morgue to collect the body of their worker where funeral procession of Shia activist was taking place. They collided with the rival group and during an exchange of fire, four people including a journalist was wounded on Sunday.
Meanwhile, a rickshaw driver was shot dead near Kati Pahari, Orangi Town within the limits of Pirabad police remits. Deceased was identified as Adil, 24, son of Khursheed. Police officials said that victim was killed by unidentified armed men on a motorcycle when he was passing from Kati Pahari area. He was shot once in his head and died at the spot. His body was taken to ASH for autopsy. Police said the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained.
Two policemen namely Malik Nazeer and Asif Gujjar were wounded by unidentified armed men when they were on routine patrolling in Rasheedabad area of Khawaja Ajmair Nagri. Police said the victims were on routine patrol when they came under attack. They were taken to ASH for treatment.
