Two car riders drown in canal

HAFIZABAD
Two villagers drowned when their car plunged into Qadirabad-Balloke Link Canal near Qadirabad Colony on Wednesday.
According to Rescue 1122 source, Muhammad Akram and Muhammad Hanif along with driver Sunny were on way to their village Bhirri Chatha from Qadirabad barrage. When they reached a bank of the canal, the driver lost control over the steering, the car skidded off the road and fell into the canal. The rescuers rushed to-the-spot and after about three-hour struggle recovered the dead bodies. Later, the squad also pulled out the vehicle and also fished out driver Sunny alive, who was shifted to a local hospital.
DACOITY: A villager was seriously injured when five dacoits opened fire on him near Dhingranwali village. According to police source, Muhammad Boota son of Ranjha was on way to nearby village on his new bike when five armed bandits intercepted him to snatch his bike but on resistance they opened fire. Resultantly, he was seriously injured. However, the accused sped away empty handed. The injured was shifted to a hospital by the villagers.
