Dy PM vents factory fire anger on CM

GUJRAT - Deputy Prime Minister Pervaiz Elahi has said that the Punjab government’s disinterest in the public welfare can be well judged through the fact that the Burn Unit established at Jinnah Hospital Lahore was no longer functional. “How many lives, the Punjab rulers want to take? If the burn unit had been functional, a many injured people in the Lahore factory blast could have been saved,” said Pervaiz while talking to the media after attending Qul of PML-Q district secretary general Tufail and his brother who were murdered in Gujrat.He said, “During our tenure, we established the most modern Burn Unit in Jinnah Hospital but it has been fallen victim to vindictive politics of Shahbaz Sharif and it not been made functional yet. If the Burn Unit had been working, many precious lives could have been saved.” He added that the Cardiology Centre established in Musharraf ear at Wazirabad had also been closed down by Shahbaz Sharif thereby depriving the people of modern healthcare facilities. He said because of negligence and inefficiency of the rulers, the law and order in the province had been too deteriorated to be controlled by the provincial government. For the loss of lives, he expressed the hope, the people would hold the government responsible. He said that the “worst lawlessness” was prevailing all over the Punjab.Mr Pervaiz said that due to inefficiency and incompetency of the Punjab rulers, floods have played havoc with the precious lives in South Punjab, causing grave damage to standing crops on thousands of acres and destroying a large number of houses.  He said that all the canals were closed during floods except that in Dera Ghazi Khan despite advance warning and as a result, it was breached and flood water triggered heavy loss. Earlier, he condoled with Aamer Nadeem and Imran Tufail and condemned the double murder. He said that deceased Tufail was an asset for the party. He added that his services could not be forgotten.
