PESHAWAR Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa issued a white paper on Thursday about the performance of the provincial government, accusing it of massive corruption, misuse of power, disparity in budgetary allocations, worsened law and order situation and violation of merit. Prof Mohammad Ibraheem Khan, the provincial president of the JI, who unveiled the 13-page document at a press conference here, claimed that all the details given in the paper were based on documentary proofs. No hearsay or concocted story has been included in the paper. It can be proved true anywhere, if challenged, the JI leader said. The JI KP Vice President Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Incharge Public Relations Department Noorul Haq, Provincial Vice President Al-Khidmat Foundation and former health minister Inayatullah Khan were also present on the occasion. The JI leader informed that details about the alleged irregularities in education sector, internally displaced people and flood affectees were not made part of the paper and a detailed report about these sectors would be released soon. He said in the first year of the rule of the Awami National Party and Peoples Party coalition government in the province the 2.9 percent increase was made in development budget and 9.51 per cent increase in non-development budget, showing a great imbalance. Even the amount specified for the development purposes could not be utilised, as only 78 per cent of the funds were spent, he said, adding that despite ban on medical treatment abroad, an amount of Rs 4.2 million was spent under the same head.
