Illegal labs sealed in Landi Kotal

KHYBER AGENCY - Following repeated complaints from general public, the Public Complaint Agency Surgeon Dr Azam Wazir sealed 14 laboratories in a surprised raid here at Landi Kotal hospital square on Saturday morning.
Official and local sources said that out of 16 laboratories, only two were declared legal while the rest of 14 laboratories were closed, as they were found running without prior permission.
The laboratory managers failed to produce their actual and legal certificates and diplomas for running the laboratories. The agency surgeon also recovered fake and expired chemicals from the said laboratories, which they used for testing and diagnosing diseases. He told local media that whosoever tried to reopen these laboratories, they would be sent to jail, because they would not be permitted to play with the lives of people. He also directed the health authorities to kill the stray dogs if they found them in the area.
The local tribesmen lauded the action taken by the agency surgeon, however they also demanded strict check on the medicines in the local medicine markets to know whether anybody was involved in selling substandard medicines. Majority of the medicine stores runners had no pharmacy certificates, they regretted.
They also urged the health high ups to take action against the fake doctors and paramedics in the area so that they could not play with the lives of the people.
