KHYBER AGENCY : Two drivers were killed and two others sustained injuries when militants targeted Nato supply vehicles with mortar shells at the Hawaldari Chowki, Sur Kamar and Ali Masjid areas of Jamrud, a sub-division of Khyber Agency, officials of the local administration said on Monday. Political Tehsilder of Jamrud Ali Sher said the first incident occurred at the Hawaldari Chowk where unidentified gunmen opened fire at a Nato supply truck bearing registration No 2077 and injured its driver, M Jan, a resident of Peshawar. The second incident took place at Sur Kamar area of Jamrud tehsil where two Nato containers were targeted by militants, sources said. They said Rehmat Gul of Landi Kotal was killed in the firing while Abdul Rauf of Quetta sustained bullets wounds.Separately, militants set a Nato vehicle on fire in Ali Masjid area and the driver sitting in the truck was also burnt to death. "The deceased driver was not identified due to severe burn injuries," they added. Exchange of fire also took place between militants and local Khasadar Force.They said the administration and officials launched a search operation in the areas and 24 suspects were arrested and shifted to undisclosed location for investigation.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
