Landslide hampers cross-LoC trade

The Cross-LoC trade at Muzaffarabad-Srinagar ancient route through Chakothi-Uri sector in Jammu and Kashmir state could not reportedly took place on Tuesday due to road blockage caused by landslide this side of the LoC, official sources confirmed.
According to officials at Trade Facilitation Centre, Chakothi, the road was blocked near Chinari in Muzaffarabad due to heavy landslide.
The landslides hit the ancient road connecting Muzaffarabad to Srinagar at Chinari in AJK, an official at TFC explained. “So, there was no trade activity between either side of the Line of Control on Tuesday.” Meanwhile, due to the landslides, the routine bus service too was affected on Monday.
“The bus coming from AJK had four passengers which crossed to other side of LoC but they had to be shifted to Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) at Chinari point because of the passage for the normal bus was not reportedly possible,” the official informed adding, “likewise, 12 passengers (11 returnees, 1 fresh) crossed to the this side of the LoC boarding such Light Motor Vehicles.”
