Change of Guard ceremony

KARACHI (APP) - On the occasion of the Independence Day, smartly turned out cadets of Pakistan Naval Academy assumed ceremonial guard at the Mazar-e-Quaid on Saturday morning. A Pakistan Navy press release issued here said that the Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy, Commodore Ayaz Ahmed Nasir, was the chief guest on the occasion who inspected the guard and took salute. He also laid a floral wreath at the Mazar and offered Fateha. Earlier, the day commenced with 21 gun salutes. Thanks-giving prayers were offered in all mosques of Naval units after Namaz-e-Fajr wherein the faithful prayed for peace, progress and solidarity of the nation. Commanding Officers of all ships and establishments addressed special gatherings of officers and men on this auspicious occasion and highlighted significance of the day. Flag hoisting ceremonies were also held and national anthem was sung at all units.
