US not honouring Pak parliament’s resolution on drones, says Rabbani



KARACHI-PPP leader and parliamentary committee chief on national security Senator Mian Raza Rabbani said on Tuesday that United States of America was not honoring the resolution of the Pakistani parliament.
He was talking to the media persons at Iftar dinner hosted by the Sindh’s local government minister Agha Siraj Durrani at his residence on Tuesday.
Raza Rabbani said that though the USA talks about the rights and democracy in the world but it was not seeing the bloods of innocent Pakistanis bleeding due to its drone attacks on tribal area.
To a question, Raza Rabbani said that the severe result may come of striking down the drones of USA by the Pakistani. Replying to another query, he said that present government has not implemented half of the decisions on provincial autonomy devolved under 18th amendment in the constitution.
The Iftar dinner of the PPP leader Agha Siraj Durrani was turned into a political gathering, which was attended by the PPP, ANP, MQM and parties, where leaders talked on issues to resist possible verdict of Supreme Court against the second premier of present parliament, lawlessness in Karachi to differences on the local government law among the PPP and MQM.
During the media talks, the ruling PPP and MQM leaders admitted that differences on new law and powers for local\district governments are severe among them, which could not be resolved in the core
committees of two parties.
Leaders of both parties also said that they have apprised the President Asif Ali Zardari about the situation and urged him to resolve the issue soon.
MQM leader Farooq Sattar said that 80 per cent issues of new law of local government has been resolved between PPP and MQM; however, he admitted that resolution of remaining 20 per cent issues is difficult and beyond the authority of the core committee.
Farooq Sattar said that they have informed the President Asif Ali Zardari about the issue, hoping that leadership of the both parties will take any decision on it. He hoped that though the issues and reservations among two parties on the local government law are severe but hopefully these could be resolved through dialogue. PPP leader and Local government Minister Agha Siraj Durrani told the media that the 85pc issues of new law of local government system have been resolved among two parties, while remaining issues
could be resolved in the core committee.
He said that MQM has demanded devolution of some provincial subjects\departments for local governments\district governments, which will not accepted. He said that they have apprised the President Zardari, adding that now the leadership will resolve the issue on local government law.
On this occasion, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that Hindus are indigenous people of Sindh, and PPP government will ensure their rights through legislation too. Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon while talking to the media announced that the PPP will not accept any verdict of Supreme Court through which second premier removed.
He said that there will be ‘Dam Dama Dam Mast Qalandar’ againt the PCO judges, if they give any verdict against the elected premier of Pakistan.
