DASKA: A minor girl was allegedly raped by a cleric at his house in village Aadha-Motra Daska tehsil here Wednesday.

According to an FIR lodged at Motra police station under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code, the seven-year-old was visiting the house of the accused, Mohsin Raza, for religious education.

The accused was also the cleric of a local mosque. He had been residing in a rented house in the village.

The victim was admitted at Daska Civil Hospital, where the doctors said that her condition was critical.

Motra police have registered a case on the report of the victim’s father Muhammad Haneef, with no arrest, in this regard.

Local people have strongly protested against this incident, demanding immediate arrest of the accused.
