LAKKI MARWAT - Legal fraternity of the district took out a protest rally on Thursday to condemn the robbery incident at the house of an owner of a medical store Akhia Jan, the brother of prominent lawyer Amanullah Jan in Tanchiabad locality of Naurang town the other night.
It started from judicial complex and it reached district headquarters complex Tajazai after marching on Lakki-Tajazai road. Lakki bar president advocate Naimatullah Khan led the rally wherein members of district bar participated in large number to express solidarity with their colleague and his brother.
The protesting lawyers gathered outside the office of deputy commissioner in district headquarters complex where Naimatullah Khan and other speakers delivered speeches against police. They said that the robbery incident clearly showed the inefficiency and failure of local police in providing security of life and property to the citizens.
They held local police responsible for happening of such heinous crimes and asked the high ups to take notice of the poor law and order situation. They told that the rise in theft and robbery incidents was alarming and local police should take stringent measures to bust gangs of criminals and anti social elements.
They demanded of the government to transfer DPO Muhammad Idrees Khan and SDPO Naurang circle Sanaullah Khan within three days and compensate the loss of advocate Amanullah Jan’s brother Akhia Jan.
Later the lawyers dispersed after deputy commissioner Nisar Ahmad assured them that their demands would be brought into the notice of higher authorities concerned.
Meanwhile, two rival groups of Wanda Langerkhel Surband buried their enmity and pledged to live together peacefully in future.
The blood feud between Azad Khan and Maulana Mirza Ali Khan groups had taken six lives three from each faction so far. The enmity between both groups was a constant threat to the peace of village and adjacent localities.
The tension between both sides was also the main cause of spread of fear and frighten among local population. The families became enemies over a minor dispute as a result six people were killed from both sides during last couple of years.
A group of elders consisting of head of Marwat Qaumi Jirga Haji Muhammad Aslam Khan Eesakkhel and a local JUI-F leader engineer Haji Ameer Nawaz Khan started efforts to bring an end to the enmity between both families.
Elders of both families announced to forgive each other at a grand meeting held in the village on Thursday. They said that they forgave the blood of killed people belonging to their groups, pledging that they would use their energies to promote peace and harmony in the area.
“We will launch joint efforts to strengthen unity among locals and bring development to the area”, they maintained. They said that resolving of enmity would have a good and positive impact on the uplift of rural localities.
MPA Munawar Khan Marwat, PML-N provincial senior vice president Akhtar Munir Khan Marwat, former nazim advocate Fareedullah Khan Meenakhel and other political and social elite of the district were also present at the meeting.
