The atomic blast in 1998 was justified, claims majority: Survey

ISLAMABAD- Eighty-two percent of Pakistan’s civilians believe carrying out the 16-year-old atomic blast was the right decision whilst twelve percent expressed their disagreement in a Gillani Research Foundation Survey.

A nationally-representative sample was asked: ‘Approximately after 16 years of the atomic blast, do you think Pakistan made a right or wrong decision when it conducted the atomic blast?’ The remaining six percent gave no response.

The recent survey was carried out from a sample of 2693 adult men and women in the rural and urban areas across Pakistan.

The study was released by Gillani Foundation and conducted by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
