HAFIZABAD-The mystery surrounded the disappearance of a landlord of Sooianwala since 2013 has been resolved following arrest of his fieldworker of Jaranwala (Faisalabad).
On the pointation of the accused identified as Tariq, son of Ramzan, the police have arrested wife of the landlord Inamullah Chattha and his two sisters-in-law Kiran and Iram from Sooianwala village.
According to police source, Tariq used to work in the field of the deceased Chattha. His wife Shakeela and sisters-in-law were allegedly wanted to get rid of him as he had developed illicit relations with another sister-in-law. The accused Shakeela, Kiran, Iram allegedly administered intoxicant to the deceased and as he fell unconscious, they along with Tariq allegedly threw him into a nearby canal.
Later, Shakeela Bibi, wife of the landlord spread the rumour that her husband had been kidnapped by unknown accused and had got registered a case FIR No 364/13 under section 365 PPC. But the police failed to recover the deceased or arrest anyone. Tariq made the startling revelation during custody of the Faisalabad police following his arrest in connection with another case. Further investigation is underway.
2 shots at, injured for ‘honour’
Two married women were shot at and critically injured allegedly by their brother in the name of honour here on Saturday.
According to police source, Sakina Bibi was married off to Ali Sher while Sughran Bibi was married to Juma Khan in Bhopra village. Their brother Bilal Ahmad, however, doubted their conduct and advised them to mend their ways. But they lent a deaf ear to his advice. On Saturday, they exchanged harsh words with his sisters over the issue, which aggravated. At which enraged Bilal opened firing on them. Resultantly both the women received serious injuries and were rushed to hospital.
The police have registered a case against the accused.
