CM briefed about progress on ongoing development progress


PESHAWAR – The scheme of distribution of laptop among intelligent students of the province will commence next month while the establishment of Oil and Gas Company will soon be finalized.
This was stated in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti at the CM Secretariat her eon Wednesday.
Progress on present govt special indicatives in Health, Agriculture, Higher Education, Elementary & Secondary Education, Transport, Information Technology, Energy & Power and Science & Technology was reviewed in detail during the meeting. A detail briefing on programmes was given to the meeting by concerned departments.
Participants of the meeting included ACS, Administrative Secretaries P & D and Finance, Secretaries, MD Bank of Khyber, concerned officers and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the present government’s special initiatives for controlling problems of unemployment, illiteracy, poverty, fatal diseases and energy will create long-lasting impacts.
He added that special initiatives for technical education and woman education will also prove useful. 
He expressed satisfaction over the progress on Bacha Khan Khpal Rozgar Scheme, Hunarmand Rozgar Scheme, Stori Da Pakhtunkhwa and Rokhana Pakhtunkhwa education programs.
He said that oil and gas reservoirs in Southern districts were guarantee of economy, development and prosperity of the province.  He termed establishment of oil and gas company vital for benefitting from these resources.
He directed the relevant department for speedy steps for establishment of the company. He said that special attention should be paid to people awareness on free treatment of Hepatitus and cancer under Benazir Health Support Program and Begum Nusrat Bhutto Oncology Services in order that oiling humanity can benefit from it.
The Chief Minister directed for accelerating the pace of work on these special initiatives and stressed the need for continuity in implementation on people welfare schemes.  Bank of Khyber informed the meeting on funding, expenditure and procedure of different schemes. 
The Energy and Power Department informed the meeting about the different phases of establishment of oil and gas company of the province. 
Important decisions regarding priorities, time frame, goals and funds situation of special initiatives were made during the meeting, which will be finalized in next review meeting. 
Officers of higher education and IT briefed on details regarding Newy Sahar Scheme and commencement of distribution of laptops among intelligent students of the province by next month, was decided.  Under the program worth Rs.1 billion, a total of 25000 laptops will be distributed phase-wise.
