Sacrificial animals’ prices go out of reach

Like the past year, the prices of sacrificial animals have gone beyond the reach of the middle class while a majority of people are opting for collective sacrifice.
Meanwhile, different religious and socials organisations have announced a share of Rs8,000 for the collective sacrifice.
The people from all walks of life appealed  to the DCO and the TMA administrator to stop illegal tax being levied on sale and purchase of animals.
Three booked: On the orders of DCO Syed Javed Iqbal Bukhari, the police have registered a case against three officials on the charge of changing delimitation lists of union councils.
The booked officials are Assistant Director Statistics Naveed Ahmad, District Council Officer Taghveez Ahamd and PA to Assistant Commissioner Qasim Khan.  The DCO received a complaint that the officials had made some changes in the delimitation lists under pressure from some local politicians. The DCO held an inquiry and found the allegations correct.
