PM inaugurates 102MW hydropower project

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated the Gul Pur Pan Project in Kotli, Waqt News reported. The project has commenced on River Poonch, Azad Kashmir.

While addressing the ceremony the PM said that project will produce 2012 Mega Watt (MW) electricity. “33% work has been completed and it will be finished in 48 months,” he claimed.

He further told the attendees that because of government efforts the load shedding has been reduced to six hours from 12 hours. “Our purpose is not only to end the load shedding but also to produce cheap electricity which will positively affect the economy,” he said.

Sharif invited Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan as the country has the capacity of producing 60,000 MW.

“We will end the load shedding by 2018,” PM concluded
