‘Govt to avail Turkish assistance in various fields’



PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Transport, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has directed the concerned high-ups to take immediate steps for giving practical shape to the offer of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in different sectors, which it offered to the official delegation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during its recent visit to Istanbul.
He issued these directives while talking to the Director Planning & Development of Pak-Turk Foundation Turgut Puyan at Peshawar. On this occasion, Commissioner Peshawar Division, Tariq Jamil, Secretary Transport, Secretary Information, Azmat Hanif Orakzai, DCO Peshawar Javed Marwat and Principal Pak-Turk School & College, Ahmet Kaya were also present. It may be recalled that the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality during the recent visit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Turkey offered cooperation in different sectors including transport, local government, information, culture and law and order etc.
Turgut asked the minister for transport to prepare a complete package in line with the needs of the provincial government so that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality initiate plan of action in this regard. He added that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should also identify the routes where it wants to start Rapid Bus Transport System (RBTS). Similarly, it also provides details of the proposed security plan of the Peshawar city and recycling solid waste.
Mian Iftikhar while thanking the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality for offering cooperation in different sectors maintained that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would take full advantage of the offer. He further said after completing homework, it would properly invite the Turk team and formal MoUs would be signed in this respect.
