Qiraat contest held in Swat



Swat- National ‘Qiraat’ competition was held at the Wadudia Hall Mingora here on Monday.
The programme was organised by the Pakistan Army in which more than 15 participants from different parts of the country participated.
A team of judges comprising Mulana Dr Ahmed Mian Tahnawal and Qari abdul ghafoor judged the performance of participants.
General officer commander (GOC) Swat Major General Sanaullah khan Niazi was the chief guest on the occasion.
The participants came from all over the country, including Gilgat Baltistan, Fata and other parts of the country, presented stirring and stunning performances, which turned the recitation competition into a spiritual experience and moved the audience.
Hassan Ali of Balochistan won the first prize in the contest. Nasrullah of Swat secured second and Hafiz Qari Abdul Rasheed of Peshawar third positions respectively.
The chief guest Major General Sanaullah Khan Niazi congratulated the winners and the other notable Army officers for arranging the competition. Addressing the ceremony, General Sanaullah said that every educational institution must provide religious education along with modern education. He said that it was the monumental event in the history of Swat and the competition was organised to highlight the love to our true religion Islam. He expressed that the Pak Army will organise such type of Islamic competition in schools and colleges of Swat to explain the real meaning of Islam.
Narrating from the Holy Quran to the audience General Sanaullah Khan stated that Quran Sharif was the great book in this world and had full information about everything. A large number of people from different walks of life attended the Qirat competition.
Later Major General Sanaullah Khan Niazi and the dignities distributed cash and shield prizes among the winners of the Qirat competition
