ISLAMABAD- The judicial commission formed to investigate alleged rigging today ordered Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to present solid evidence to support their claims regarding 2013 poll rigging.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan also appeared before the commission and gave his statements regarding electoral rigging. Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk headed the bench that included Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Ejaz Afzal.
The commission directed the participating political parties to refrain from giving media interviews in the Supreme Court boundaries.
The judicial commission also sought records pertaining to thumbprint verification in 37 constituencies from NADRA and ordered submissions within three days.
The hearing of the case was later adjourned till April 22.
Speaking to journalists prior to his appearance in court, Imran Khan said, "Today is a red letter day for Pakistan's democracy. Whatever happens, Pakistan's democracy will strengthen."
Khan believes the stolen mandate during the elections will come in front once the investigations are done.
