Three POs carrying head money held

Police arrested three proclaimed offenders carrying head money of Rs400,000 each announced by the Punjab government.
DPO Dr Shehzad Asif Khan disclosed this while talking to the newsmen at his office here. The DPO revealed that the accused including Shehzad alias Shazi and Khawar Iqbal alias Arif were the sign of terror in the region and wanted by police in more than two dozen cases of murder, dacoity, robbery and kidnapping.
Police have also arrested another notorious proclaimed offender (PO) Mukhtar Ahmed alias Lala resident of village Chhjowal-Chak Amro (Narowal district). He was wanted by police in more than one dozen cases of heinous nature including kidnapping for ransom, dacoity and murder since 2005, the DPO added.
Meanwhile, the Sialkot police arrested 628  proclaimed offenders including two dangerous POs bearing head money, besides recovering the stolen and snatched valuables including 79 motorcycles , 6 cars, cattle, electronics, cash and other valuables worth Rs35 million during the first three months of the running year.
He added that the police also smashed 30 well-organised inter-district gangs of dacoits and arrested as many as 122 dangerous members of these gangs, as their arrest helped Sialkot police to trace out 135 old cases.
He narrated that police also recovered 16 kalashnikovs, 72 guns, 91 different kinds rifles, 477 pistols, 14 revolvers, 9 carbines, 12 draggers and 8,216 bullets from the suspects during a special campaign. It also recovered 3.5kg heroin, 168 kg Charas, 2,105 litters wine, unearthed 27 working distilleries and sent 65 drunkard people behind the bars.
