Jirga forms body to field consensus candidate in elections


LAKKI MARWAT - A grand jirga of Aba Shaheed tribe has formed a committee to name a consensus candidate for the provincial assembly seat in the upcoming elections.
The committee was formed at a meeting held in an open ground in Abakhel village on Friday. It will consist of elders from each sub tribe of Abakhel, Dallokhel and other adjacent villages and hamlets.
Over four thousands residents and elders of Abakhel, Dallokhel, Wanda Kalan, Wanda Zeran, Matora and other villages attended the meeting. Speakers included former nazim Johar Muhammad, Professor (retired) Haji Zarwali Khan, former president of Lakki bar Najibullah Khan, Malik Muhammad Ishaq, Malik Haji Sarwer Khan and advocate Umar Farooq.
They said on the occasion that the grand jirga meeting was the first step to bring ‘Tsunami’ in local politics. “The villagers should come out of their homes to get back their rights from usurpers”, they told.
They said that traditional politicians and lawmakers from the district usurped the rights of Aba Shaheed tribe and always kept it far from development. “Now time has come to bring a change and elect a new face to the provincial assembly from our own ranks”, they maintained.
They alleged that MPs from the district had put the government jobs on sale besides they kept mum over corruption and nepotism in government departments. They also accused the lawmakers and traditional politicians of hatching conspiracies to shift cadet college and masses well being projects from Abakhel to other localities.
“Enough is enough, we will not allow them to usurp our rights anymore”, they asserted. They pledged that Aba Shaheed tribesmen and residents of adjacent villages and hamlets would support consensus candidate to win elections.
Teachers urged to ensure quality edu
Elementary and Secondary Education Department, ASDEO Abdul Rehman Rashid, paid surprise inspection visits to several primary schools in Mahal Panyala area on Friday.
He checked the attendance of teachers and conducted evaluation of students. The official congratulated the recently appointed head teachers (BPS-15) in the schools and called upon them to exercise their energies for improving learning environment of their respective institutions.
He also asked the head teachers to accept the challenge to impart quality education to the students and make your schools fully functional.  Rashid also inaugurated tree plantation by planting a sapling on the premises of Govt Primary School Wanda Khra. He said that the teachers and students should take active part in tree plantation campaign to increase and protect timberlands.
Meanwhile, KPK Home & Tribal Affairs Department has promoted Public Prosecutors (BS-18) of the Directorate of Prosecution to the post of District/ Senior Public Prosecutors (BS-19) on acting charge basis, with immediate in public interest.  These officers include: Zulfiqar Ali, Sabghatullah, Saeed Naeem, Farmanullah, Karan Khan Wazir, Jehanzeb Sheikh, Jehanzeb Khan, Qadir Baksh, Faheem Khan and Hamshed Khan. Their posting/transfer orders will be issued later on, said a press release of Home & Tribal Affairs Department.
 Likewise, the KPK Govt Home & Tribal Affairs Department has enlisted Farid Gul Advocate as Special Public Prosecutors in the Office of the District Public Prosecutor, Lakki Marwat, on usual terms and conditions with immediate effect I n the public interest.
 Meanwhile The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home & Tribal Affairs Department has appointed Mohibullah Khan and Gul Munir Advocates, as Notary Public and authorized them to practice within the local limits of District Courts Swat and District Courts, Upper Dir respectively for a period of three years, with immediate effect.
