PESHAWAR- At least 50 suspects including Afghan nationals were arrested in a search operation around Bacha Khan International Airport here on Friday.

According to reports, Law enforcement agencies carried out door to door search near Peshawar Airport in which as many as 50 suspects including illegal Afghans were taken into custody.

Heavy contingents of security forces and Police took part in the operation with the area sealed off during the crackdown. Police said weapons were also recovered during the search operation.

The suspects were later shifted to undisclosed place for investigation.

Security forces have stepped up their operations against militants and suspects after the attack on Peshawar’s Army Public School on December 16 in which 150 people including 135 children and nine staff members were killed.
