KARACHI- Demonstrators belonging to Jamaat-e-Islami student wing, Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT) clashed with police, as they tried to march on French consulate in Karachi today.

Police resorted to aerial firing and used water canon to break up the protest. Participants were staging a protest against the printing of blasphemous caricatures, by satirical French magazine Charlie Hebdo. A journalist is said to  be wounded in the police firing.
