Banned outfits barred from collecting zakat, fitrana

PESHAWAR - Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has banned the collection of fitrana and zakat donations by banned outfits and warned to take stern action if any such organization was found involved in collection of such donations.
In KP, it is crystal clear that under the garb of welfare, several organizations even banned outfits have put up advertisements in different areas requesting for zakat and fitrana donations in the name of the poor and people mostly give then positive response.
However, this time the KP government has banned the collection of fitrana and zakat donations by such organizations and warned to take strict action against any such outlawed organisations found involved in zakat collection.
Officials in home department have confined the ban and said that all divisional commissioners, DIGs and other concerned officials have been instructed in this regard through a notification. They said that this decision has been taken after donation camps set up by various such organisations mushroomed across the city.
It has been seen the after the announcement of a ban, the donation collection points have disappeared as the government has decided to take stern action this time. The officials did not mention names of outland organizations banned on collecting donations, but said that there are at least 15 such organizations.
